What is Rural Library Services

Residents living in Rural Blue Earth County can have library materials sent directly to their mail boxes free of charge. Rural Library Services, online services, and mini library sites throughout the county allows county residents living outside the city limits of Mankato, Lake Crystal, and Mapleton access to library services expediently and conveniently 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Residents of rural Blue Earth County, including the communities of Eagle Lake, Madison Lake, St. Clair, Good Thunder, Garden City, Vernon Center, Amboy, and Pemberton have access to direct library services through the US Mail. Patrons can go directly online or or call the library to order library materials (books, magazine, books on CD, DVDs, etc.). The materials will be mailed directly to them with an enclosed postage-paid return envelope. Rural library users also have full access to the regional library system's extensive eBook and audio book collection which can be downloaded from the Blue Earth County Library System website (www.beclibrary.org) to their personal reading/listening devices. In addition, residents of these communities will have access to mini-library sites in their communities.
